Cracking the SIBO Code Summit
FEBRUARY 4-10
Free 7-day SIBO Summit, hosted by Angela Pifer.
I'm speaking on tough SIBO cases, sharing what I've learned, along with the insights of 9 SIBO experts I interviewed (including Dr. Pimentel).
Other amazing speakers include Shivan Sarna, Nirala Jacobi, Jason Hawrelak, Ilana Gurevich, Dan Kalish and many more.
> Make sure to listen to Ruth Kriz on day 6, if you or someone you know, suffers from chronic UTI's!
This summit goes way beyond “just SIBO” and digs into the real root causes of stubborn gut issues, including:
- Mold exposure and mycotoxins
- Trauma and nervous system dysregulation
- Motility breakdown and methane-driven constipation
- MCAS and histamine overload
- Low stomach acid, weak bile flow, and poor detox
- Mitochondrial dysfunction and fatigue
- Parasites, yeast, and biofilm-driven infections
If you’ve done multiple protocols, tried every gut supplement under the sun, and still feel stuck… this is for you.

RESEARCH UPDATES & NEWS
Updates from the American College of Gastroenterology Conference (ACG) in October, and more.
> From Dr. Pimentel on X:
Oct 14: “In paper just published, @barlowgillian and I cover the modern concepts of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. This is not your grandparents #SIBO. We discuss myths and how we have advanced. Despite funding struggles, we have come a long way.”
> Modern concepts of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth
Oct 27: "Today at #acg2025, @GIJANE_MD will be presenting data on colonic inertia. This is associated with extreme #constipation and not associated with #methane on breath test. Poster P2402.”
Oct 28: “Today @GabrielaGSLeite from @MASTprogram @CedarsSinai is presenting the second large scale clinical study observing a correlation between hydrogen sulphide on three-gas breath test and #dyspepsia and #GERD. More H2S=more symptoms! Not just diarrhea. Check out P4929”
Nov 18: “...First study of breath sample on same morning as scope with duodenal shotgun sequencing. Breath #methane and #hydrogensulfide correlate with microbes in the small intestine that produce those gases. Breath does=small intestine. And symptoms too."
> Hydrogen Sulfide and Methane on Breath Test Correlate with Human Small Intestinal Hydrogen Sulfide Producers and Methanogens
Nov 20: “The #REIMAGINE study of the #microbiome @MASTprogram has been so successful. We are excited to announce a collaboration @CedarsSinai @GuerinChildrens (Drs. Wozniak and Rabizadeh). The first study to look at the small intestinal microbiome of children called #PREIMAGINE.”
Dec 19: “As the holidays are here it is important to recognize this time of year can be very challenging for people with digestive diseases like #IBS/#SIBO. There are three cardinal rules:
- If someone does not eat something, please don't force them. You cannot imagine how much pain and bloating the wrong food can cause. In people with #SIBO the bacteria in their gut can ferment up to 60 times more than a normal person. This can be very painful.
- Conversation and fun is more important than eating something that hurts you and the whole evening is ruined.
- Food poisoning can cause IBS and SIBO and make those who have it worse. Don't leave food out for more than 2 hours to avoid spoiling and make sure food is properly cooked.
Have a great holiday!"
We started this ambitious journey to make elemental diets palatable and accessible for patients. To see it recognized globally is deeply meaningful. Huge thanks to the brilliant team who helped bring this innovation from lab to life; and to the patients who inspire every step.
🧃 Elemental diet: Visceral fat loss, fungal suppression, novel use in EoE & partial SB obstruction
📊 National data on bloating prevalence
🦠 ICD-10 adoption for SIBO/IMO
💨 H₂S & GERD
- Colonic inertia
Oct 27: “CleanCapture, an FDA cleared dual lumen endoscopic aspiration catheter co-developed with Hobbs Medical, launches at the 2025 American College of Gastroenterology meeting Booth #1401. A major leap in luminal aspiration for clinical and research use. #SIBO #SIFO”
Oct 28: "Proper aspiration techniques are key in delineating the microbiome composition of the small bowel."
Nov 4: “Elemental diets do not fuel fungal overgrowth. In fact, palatable elemental diet reduced fecal Candida albicans in humans. Excellent in vitro + human study led by @SepidehMehravar and @GabrielaGSLeite"
Nov 6: "A survey of 2,000 US adults found 1 in 5 experience postprandial bloating, yet over half consider it “normal”! Even among those who see it as potentially serious, more than a quarter avoid seeking care. Clear need for better public education and symptom awareness. #ACG2025”
